Are you ready to seed a village?

Our Villaging Community of Practice is for groups of people seeking to relate in a villaging manner. You will register as a village.

Relating in a villaging manner is a foundation layer of relating, which is non-heirarchical, sovereign, post capitalist. It is centered in the hearth, and an antidote to the transactional, hierarchical, domination-based paradigms that are nearly universal in modernity.

This relating is often present in Indigenous and ancestral cultures, where individuals are in service to something larger, tending a commons.

Glimpses of this relating present in eco-villages, co-ops, sociocracy, peer counseling, non-violent communication, etc.

In order to apply, you’ll need to have at least 3 people interested in this undertaking. You will need to live in close enough geographic proximity that you can at least theoretically establish a village.

What are the ingredients for a village?

Read our ingredient list.

If you enroll in this community of practice, you will also enroll in our Villaging Conversations (the previous page). The community of practice will meet monthly with our unfaculty via Zoom on Sunday mornings, offset from our villaging conversations. (So in total you’ll be villaging two Sunday mornings a month with us.)

Yet you will also do your primary work in analog actual reality with these people, establishing foundations for your village.
